RDN2B: Future RDNs, Real-World Impact

About the Program

RDN2B is a MOAND program for Missouri nutrition and dietetics students on the pathway to becoming Registered Dietitian Nutritionists. Students design and complete a nutrition-related project connected to one of our industry sponsors, receive up to $250 to cover approved expenses, and showcase their work at the MOAND Annual Conference.

Along the way, you'll build real-world experience, connect with Missouri dietetics professionals and industry partners, and gain recognition that stands out on internship and job applications.

What You Can Do

Projects can take many forms. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

• Cooking demonstrations at a school, food pantry, farmers market, or community center

• Community presentations for a local group, worksite, or after-school program

• Social media campaigns sharing evidence-based nutrition information

• Educational materials such as handouts, recipe cards, or videos

Who Can Apply

• Students enrolled in a nutrition and dietetics program in Missouri on the pathway to becoming an RDN

• Current Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics student members (membership through any state affiliate)

• Individuals or teams of up to 4 students

Funding

Approved projects can receive up to $250 in reimbursement per project. Include a proposed budget in your application. Only expenses approved in your proposal are eligible.

Examples of eligible expenses:

• Food and supplies for demonstrations

• Presentation and educational materials

• Social media campaign costs

• Printed posters

• Travel to the MOAND Annual Conference to present your project

Itemized receipts must be submitted by April 16, 2027.

Showcase Your Work

RDN2B Showcase: Friday, April 9, 2027
Present your project at the MOAND Annual Conference evening reception. RDN2B presenters receive complimentary admission to the reception and will be entered into a raffle for free registration to the 2028 MOAND Annual Conference.

Optional Poster Session: Saturday, April 10, 2027
Want to share your work with even more professionals? Students who present a poster on Saturday receive 50% off Saturday conference registration.

Can't attend the Showcase? You can still participate. Submit a photo or video report of your project, or coordinate with a MOAND Region to give a 5-minute presentation at a local event or webinar.

Projects that connect with a sponsoring organization may receive priority funding, but all strong, nutrition-related proposals are welcome. Materials created for sponsored projects, such as recipes, handouts, photos, videos, and social media content, will be shared with and may be used by the sponsoring organization.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be a MOAND member?
You need to be an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics student member. Membership through any state affiliate qualifies.

Can I work with classmates?
Yes. Teams can include up to 4 students.

Does my project have to involve a sponsor?
No. Sponsor-connected projects may receive priority funding, but all strong nutrition-related proposals will be considered.

Do I need faculty approval?
It's not required, but we encourage you to share your proposal with a faculty member or preceptor.

Do I have to present at the Showcase to be reimbursed?
No. If you can't attend, you can submit a photo or video report, or present at a regional MOAND event or webinar.

How do I get reimbursed?
Submit itemized receipts for approved expenses by April 16, 2027. Reimbursement is capped at $250 per project.

When can I make purchases?
Upon acceptance you can begin work on your project and purchases will be eligible for reimbursement.
