Northwest Region CEU Presentation: Updates on Gut Health

“Dietary Strategies for IBS – spotlight on the FODMAP diet” – presented by The Kansas City Dietitian, Bethany Frazier, MS, RD, LD
It is estimated that about 10% of the population worldwide struggles with IBS. Food and nutrition can play a big role in triggering symptoms and promoting healing. In this session we will discuss unique strategies for managing IBS related symptoms from reflux and bloating, to diarrhea and constipation. Some of the strategies we will discuss are the low FODMAP diet and the SCD diet, and the appropriate use of supplements. 

“Fermenting 101” – presented by Amanda Lindahl, Community Engagement Coordinator - Kansas City Community Gardens
Have you always known that you should be consuming those good gut-health contributing fermented foods but been too intimidated to get started? Learn from Amanda as she shares her passion for the ease and convenience of basic vegetable ferments and watch how easy it is to get started at home making your own. Sample some delicious sauerkraut and carrot sticks that go great on any plate with or without the sausage!

Join us for a 2.0 hour CEU presentation on updates on gut health! We have two speakers to broaden your knowledge on the treatment of IBS and learn tangible tips to share with clients on how to ferment foods.

We will be giving away 3 fermentation kits at the end of the night so you can start fermenting foods on your own!
